The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature presentations by Mayor Linda Thompson, U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey’s regional manager, Dauphin County Commissioner George Hartwick III, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corp. and others.
The ribbon cutting will follow, along with a networking luncheon, tours and an employer seminar event, according to a news release.
“Our goal is to foster stronger employer relationships and greater job growth,” Susan Harwood, administrator of the PA CareerLink Capitol Region, said in a statement. “Our new and expanded facilities will make that goal so much more accessible for both employers and those seeking jobs.”
The capitol region office serves more than 2,500 clients from Dauphin County each month. The new North Cameron Street location will provide easier access for clients with ample, free off-street parking and nearby service from Capital Area Transit, officials said.
The event also will give employers an opportunity to share updates and information about the free services the PA CareerLink provides to help businesses find workers. The organization is an employment resource partner for the South Central Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required by emailing [email protected] or [email protected].
