Destination Gettysburg is bringing Bill Geist, president of Wisconsin-based Zeitgeist Consulting, from 3-4:30 p.m. June 24 at the Wyndham Gettysburg Hotel, 95 Presidential Circle, Straban Township.

Norris Flowers, president of Destination Gettysburg, said the talk, “Today’s Trends, Tomorrow’s Dollars,” is open to businesses, organizations and government officials.

“The business climate is changing,” Flowers said. “Whether you’re in tourism or not, this presentation will show businesses how to be on the forefront of this changing climate and how they can capitalize from the trends in business.”

Geist’s firm specializes in strategic planning, governance, marketing and legislative issues for convention and visitor bureaus, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and communities, according to a news release. Geist has provided consulting services to more than 150 marketing organizations since 1995 and is a popular speaker on marketing, trends and customer service across North America. He has also served as a guest lecturer on Internet marketing at the University of Wisconsin’s Small Business Development Center.

The session is complimentary but reservations are required by emailing Kristi Cramer or calling 717-338-1054. Afterward, a reception will be held at the Wyndham Hotel, and Destination Gettysburg will introduce its new board of directors.

Expect to see more events like this, said Carl Whitehill, Destination Gettysburg’s communications director.

“We are looking to do more programs such as this in order to put businesses in the region face-to-face with experts on a variety of subjects,” he said. “Coming off the 150th anniversary in 2013, we are looking to position the tourism community, as well as other industries, for the future.”
