Running the 24,000-square-foot shop with about 80 antiques dealers suited the former human resources professional at The Hershey Co. She said business on Route 422 grew 22 percent in the first year after she took over, then another 5 percent in 2014, when she served 15,000 customers.

“We were making things better here,” she said. “Before, it had not been well run. But we were really making something here.”

The “were” Adams is referring to comes from the news that by late spring or early summer, it’s almost certain Adams and three other businesses in the Annville East Center will have to find a new home before PinnacleHealth of Harrisburg starts construction on an 80,000-square foot medical facility at the site.

The health care company has agreed to buy the building and expects to close on the deal within the next three months, according to Christina Persson, director of marketing at Pinnacle. She did not disclose a sale price, but it had been listed at $4.8 million.

Pinnacle announced that it would build a new facility there to provide primary and secondary care, imaging and laboratory services and give Lebanon County patients better access to health care. Construction is expected to start this summer and end in summer 2016.

But with Pinnacle buying the building, that leaves the future of the four businesses at Annville East in doubt. In addition to Black Swan, Blue Mountain Thrift Store, family fun center The Lazer Factory and children’s party site Glitz and Glamour are there.

Roger Custer, CEO of faith-based Blue Mountain Ministries Inc., which runs the thrift store, said he’s actively looking for a new site. He said he’s “close” to acquiring one for his 20,500-square-foot thrift store, whose profits go to helping local charitable organizations.

“At the end of the year, I kind of said, ‘You know, maybe we can take a little bit of a break now’ since we were starting to make a profit. A couple of weeks later, I found out we can’t do that,” he said.

Owners from The Lazer Factory did not return a call for comment. On its website, it posted a note that includes “Should we be told to vacate our location we will relocate.”
