Dr. Paul Spears, Hanover Hospital’s chairman of the board, made the announcement today. Wissler’s responsibilities will be transitioned to Michael Gaskins, the current executive vice president and CFO of Hanover HealthCare PLUS. He has been appointed the interim president and CEO.

This is not his first time acting as interim CEO. Gaskins took this role during his first year with the organization, which was in 2011. He has more than 15 years in the health care industry and other financial positions across the Mid-Atlantic, including Frederick Memorial Healthcare System and St. Joseph Medical Center.

“I am very proud of our accomplishments over the past three years at Hanover Hospital and all of its affiliates,” Wissler said. “We have placed great emphasis on being a high quality and low cost provider to our patients. Hanover Hospital is well positioned and prepared for continued growth in order to serve Hanover and the surrounding communities. While I transition into retirement I look forward to working with Mike Gaskins to ensure continuity and stability in leadership.”
