Award-winning actor LeVar Burton, known for his roles in “Roots” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and as host of the PBS series “Reading Rainbow,” will be guest speaker at the event on Saturday, April 23, at Harrisburg’s Zembo Shrine Center.

The event is part of the school’s continuing celebration of its 10th anniversary.

It will begin with a private VIP cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by a sit-down dinner honoring HU’s largest contributor, Bob Ortenzio, executive chairman and co-founder of Select Medical Corp.

A general reception will begin at 6 p.m., with the dinner at 7.

Burton, who turns 59 today and gained fame in 1977’s “Roots” TV mini-series, will give pre-dinner comments at the event.

Zembo Shrine is at 2801 N. Third St. (Third and Division streets).

Individual tickets are $275 each, and sponsorship of a table, featuring reserved seating for eight people, with table identification, having the company name listed on the event program and admission for one guest to the pre-dinner VIP reception with actor Burton, is $2,000.
