Charles Mitchell, currently the organization’s executive vice president, will take over the conservative-leaning Commonwealth Foundation on July 1.
Mitchell joined the think tank in 2010. Since then, he has helped grow the Commonwealth Foundation’s revenue to more than $4 million from less than $1 million and expanded its presence through opening a Philadelphia-area office.
“There is no one I would rather see step into this role than Charles Mitchell,” Brouillette said in a statement. “Without a doubt, the Commonwealth Foundation would not have grown as it has these past years without Charles’ leadership, vision and tireless dedication to making Pennsylvania a better state for everyone.”
Mitchell, who grew up in the Philadelphia area, is a graduate of Bucknell University.
