Law firm moving into former National Penn regional HQ

Listen to this articleJames W. Saxton, co-founder of one-year-old Lancaster County law firm Saxton & Stump LLC, said it has signed a lease to occupy 13,500 square feet on the third floor of the building, which is at 280 Granite Run Drive, in Manheim Township.
The firm’s roughly 42 employees will be moving from the firm’s current location at 15 S. State St., also in Manheim Township.
The firm’s staff has grown about 15 percent over the last year, Saxton said. “We just needed more space.”
The new location provides about 50 percent more space than the current office, Saxton said. The building previously housed National Penn employees.
In addition to its 42 employees in Lancaster County, the firm has 10 employees in its Harrisburg office.
The former regional headquarters is one of several former National Penn properties finding new tenants since the bank was bought by Winston-Salem, N.C.-based BB&T.
BB&T is establishing a regional presence at the former Susquehanna Bank headquarters in Lititz, and did not need the former National Penn regional headquarters.
BB&T also is closing four National Penn branches in Lancaster County. Two of those branches already have found new tenants.
Bank of Bird-in-Hand plans to move into the branch at 3540 Old Philadelphia Pike in Leacock Township. First Citizens Community Bank said it will move into the branch on 740 East Main St. in Mount Joy.
The BB&T branch closures are expected in mid-July with the new tenants hoping to move in by August.
