Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth System opened the medical center after a 2015 analysis found that the county was lacking access to many health care services.

Lebanon Valley Advanced Care is the new home of Annville Family Medicine. Select Physical Therapy also is opening in the center, as well as PinnacleHealth Endocrinology.

In October, the center will additional specialty services, such as  PinnacleHealth CardioVascular Institute and PinnacleHealth Express.

Lebanon Valley Advanced Care is located at 1251 E. Main Street in Annville Township.

It was formerly known as Annville East Center and several businesses once housed there have all relocated.

Inside Lebanon Valley Advanced Care

The 80,000-square-foot center has a modern and spacious design, and patients will be able to have many tests done on-site.

Patients will be able to check in for their appointments at kiosks the same way they check in for flights at an airport.

The kiosks also will allow patients to make payments, update their insurance information and see their medical records through PinnacleHealth’s patient portal.

A community room will allow the health system to host educational events that focus on preventive care.

There also are rooms dedicate for telehealth, which will enable the center’s physicians to see patients remotely. Patients also will be able to use the center for telehealth appointments with physician located elsewhere.

Telehealth allows patients and physicians to connect virtually, typically through video or voice chat.

Annville Family Practice expands

Annville Family Practice will address the primary care needs of patients coming to Lebanon Valley Advanced Care.

The practice, previously on North Weber Street, joined PinnacleHealth in 2015.

In its new space, the practice operate 34 exam rooms.

The practice previously had 22 exam rooms, according to Oneida Deluca, the director of operations at Lebanon Valley Advanced Care.

It will also gain physicians, going from 13 to 18 providers.

Specialty services

Select Physical Therapy hopes its new location in the center will attract patients from the family practice down the hall, according to Beau Troutman, patient care manager for Select Physical Therapy at Annville.

Select’s is one of several specialty services to open at Lebanon Valley Advanced Care.

In October PinnacleHealth Endocrinology and PinnacleHealth CardioVascular Institute will open.

They’re not starting in Lebanon until October, as they are still in the process of being switched over to PinnacleHealth’s new electronic health record system called Epic, according to Deluca.

The system, developed by Wisconsin-based Epic Systems Co., is designed for midsized and large medical groups. PinnacleHealth is switching to the system in stages.

Having all practices in the Lebanon facility using the same electronic health record system will ease coordination of care.

PinnacleHealth Express is not opening right away because PinnacleHealth is still hiring providers for it, Deluca said.

Lebanon Valley Advanced Care is expected to have more than 60 employees once it is fully operational, according to Deluca.
