Clair Finkenbinder III’s next job will be leading a digital transformation at the Lower Paxton Township-based community bank. After he officially takes on the role of CIO and director of operations on Dec. 18, he will help guide Centric through tech-based initiatives like a new mobile banking app, bank leaders said Thursday.

“Clair’s strength is finding and implementing the new technologies and platforms that align with our business strategies and goals,” Centric Financial president and CEO Patti Husic said in a news release. “He has the rare combination of business acumen and organizational leadership with a technologist’s twist.”

Finkenbinder joins Centric with 27 years of experience in the technology sector, including 11 years as a systems engineer at Dell and six years with the Cryptographic Telecommunications Operations Center for the National Security Agency.

He is also a U.S. Air Force veteran and graduate of the Air Force Technical Training School and Anne Arundel Community College.

Finkenbinder’s hiring comes as Centric’s leaders look forward to what they hope will prove a busy and fruitful 2018. They have plans to open a new branch and complete a major capital raising in the new year, on top of implementing fresh technologies and continuing to settle into a new operations center in Cumberland County.

Centric Financial had roughly $553 million in assets as of the end of the third quarter. It has four branch locations and two loan production offices.
