Gunn-Mowery acquires local farm insurance agency

Wallick’s customers have been notified of the acquisition and can expect a “positive and seamless” transition to Gunn-Mowery’s farm department, the news release said.
“We are confident that we will take care of our clients in the same exemplary manner in which Doug takes care of them today,” Greg Gunn, managing partner at Gunn-Mowery, said in the release.
The acquisition is Gunn-Mowery’s 12th.
Most recently, it acquired Millersburg-based Mid Penn Bancorp Inc.’s book of insurance in May 2016. In 2013, Gunn-Mowery acquired Wells Fargo’s insurance operation in Camp Hill, according to other news reports.
Officials could not be immediately reached for further comment as of Wednesday afternoon.
Founded in 1985, Gunn-Mowery is an independent insurance broker providing a variety of insurance and financial services and employee benefits, with agents licensed to do business in 40 states. Its four offices are in Lemoyne, Lancaster, Dillsburg and State College.
