Associations

Hampden Township-based West Shore Chamber of Commerce gave four Annual Meeting & Luncheon Awards: Jessica Hughes, Viscul Creative, the George C. Hoopy Award for commitment to the chamber; Kristel Zaring, Gift CPAs, the Les Ginanni Business & Community Connection Award for community contributions; James B. Murdoch, James B. Murdoch Insurance Group, the Edward M. Messner Inspiring Business Award for business interaction and growth; and Donald L. Carter Jr., Duke’s Bar & Grille, the Business Achievement Award for enterprise.

Banking

Washington, D.C.-based American Bankers Association gave Mike Firestine the Bruning Award for leadership and outstanding dedication to providing credit and financial guidance to farmers, ranchers and businesses. Firestine, of Berks County, is senior commercial relationship manager with Fulton Bank’s Agriculture Lending.

Construction

East Pennsboro Township-based Keystone Contractors Association presented its annual safety awards.

KCA Contractor Over 100,000 Hours with the Safest Record, the H.B. Alexander Trophy: Quandel of Harrisburg; KCA Contractor Between 50,000 and 100,000 Hours with the Safest Record: Bill Anskis Company Inc. of Northumberland County; KCA Contractors Under 50,000 Hours with the Safest Record: Cresswell Brothers Inc. of Schuylkill County, and RB VetCo LLC of Pittsburgh. Also, these KCA contractors were recognized for having zero lost time due to an accident: Bill Anskis Company Inc.; JC Orr & Son Inc. of Altoona; Laso Contractors Inc. of Westmoreland County; Panzitta Enterprises Inc. of Wilkes-Barre; Quandel; and RB VetCo LLC.

Government

The Dauphin County Commissioners and Planning Commission presented the sixth annual Premier Project Awards for planning excellence and meeting the community, environmental and economic goals of the county’s Comprehensive Plan. Growing Our Communities: Tri County Community Action for Heart of the Hill – An Action Plan to Unite South Allison Hill; Growing Our Economy: Township of Derry for Park Boulevard Relocation Project; Growing Within Our Environment: H. Edward Black and Associates Ltd. for Dauphin County Heroes Grove; Small Project Award: Township of Derry for Derry Township 2017 Zoning Ordinance; and The Timothy P. Reardon Excellence in Planning Award: RGS Associates Inc. for Fort Hunter Park Master Plan Implementation – Phase I.

Senior living

Chicago-based Senior Housing News magazine named Willow Valley Communities a first place winner in the 2017 SHN Architecture & Design Awards for design excellence and innovation at its new luxury apartment residences, The Vistas, and the new events venue, Chautauqua Hall, both on the Manor Campus, West Lampeter Township.

Technology

Connecticut-based Technology Marketing Corp. gave D&H Distributing a 2017 TMCnet Tech Culture Workplace Excellence Award for best work culture and work-life balance. D&H Distributing is a technology distributor in Harrisburg.
