The organization’s board of directors earlier this month announced the hiring of Jennifer Kuzo, a lifelong Lebanon County resident, as its new president. Her first day on the job was Feb. 12. Visit Lebanon Valley is the county’s tourism bureau.

Kuzo replaces Laura Putt, who left the organization Nov. 30. Putt was named the bureau’s first leader in 2015.

In March 2015, the county commissioners officially carved Visit Lebanon Valley out of the former Lebanon Valley Tourism Promotion Agency. That now-disbanded agency guided the county’s tourism marketing, but also was in charge of promoting the nonprofit Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairgrounds in North Cornwall Township.

The commissioners wanted a clearer distinction between the tourism agency and the expo center, and formed the current tourism organization, which is overseen by a board of tourism-related businesses in the county.

Kuzo, a Palmyra resident, has an extensive background in hospitality and tourism dating back to the 1980s, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Early in her career, she worked in sales and marketing for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of local marketing, advertising and promotional roles for advertising and media companies. She also is a certified event planner.
