Wolf, a Democrat, will give the annual speech at York College’s 50th commencement on May 12 when the college will be rewarding over 650 diplomas to graduates.

Wolf was formerly the chairman of York College Board of Trustees, a position he resigned from in 2007 after being appointed as secretary of the Department of Revenue under then-Governor Ed Rendell. Wolf continues to serve as a trustee emeritus.

The May 12 commencement comes just three days before the May 15 statewide primary for Republican candidates seeking to replace Wolf in the November election. The three Republican candidates – lawyer Laura Ellsworth, businessman Paul Mango, and state Sen. Scott Wagner – filed to challenge the governor at the beginning of March. Wolf is the only Democrat registered for the race.

Alongside Wolf’s address to the students, York College will also honor alumnus Anthony Campisi. A 1976 graduate of the school, Campisi has served since 1999 as president and CEO of Glatfelter Insurance Group in York Township.

Like Wolf, Campisi serves as a trustee emeritus for York College. He also chairs the advisory board for the school’s Center for Community Engagement, and is a member of the York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program, a York College scholarship aimed at leadership development.
