The space in question is the former Mid Penn Bank building at 2101 Market St.

Harty Brewing Co. announced plans last year to add a new brewpub in the vacant bank. But it is no longer moving ahead with that plan, according to Jim Koury, the CEO of Lemoyne-based RSR Realtors and listing agent on the bank property.

Harty’s owners, Koury said, decided to focus instead on their existing facility, which opened in 2016 in the Shops at Walden in Silver Spring.

The former bank branch, however, won’t stay vacant much longer, Koury said.

NextHome Capital Realty, a residential real estate franchise owned by veteran Realtor Michael Pion, already has the bank building under contract. Pion is expected to close on the deal the first week of July and said he hopes to move his real estate company from Hampden Township to Camp Hill by the end of the year.

“This will give us more open space, more training space and just more flex space,” Pion said.

His NextHome franchise opened in 2016. The real estate company currently occupies about 2,200 square feet at 4349 Carlisle Pike.

The move will give him about 6,000 square feet to grow his business. NextHome has 26 agents.

Pion said his plan is to renovate the old bank over the summer and fall months.

Once it moves, NextHome will be just a few doors down from what could be a new Millworks brewery tasting room. A deal is pending to expand the Harrisburg brewery into Camp Hill in the former Creative Elegance Boutique.

Both properties are just a few blocks from Smith Land & Improvement Corp.’s commercial redevelopment project on the south side of the 1800 block of Market Street.

The Smith Land project, known as Neighbors & Smith, is slated to begin construction this summer.
