CAEDC CEO stepping down to start new real estate company
Listen to this articleBowser told the Business Journal Thursday that he is resigning from the post, effective Aug. 3, to pursue a new real estate development and consulting company in Hampden Township.
That new venture, dubbed Integrated Development Partners, will be based in the Hampden Terminal complex on the Carlisle Pike. The complex is home to Cork & Fork Osteria and Ever Grain Brewing Co.
Bowser said the decision had nothing to do with CAEDC and was based more on his desire to get into the private sector and take on a new challenge. Bowser, who lives in Susquehanna Township, previously worked for Metro Bank as a commercial banker.
He will be joined in the new business by local developer Mike Kennedy, who built Hampden Terminal and was responsible for renovating and reopening Allenberry Resort in Monroe Township, and engineer Justin Kuhn. Kennedy is the owner of TRAC, a rail contracting service; Kuhn is a principal in the BL Companies.
The new company is expected to be operational by Aug. 6. Given the background of the three men, redevelopment figures to play a prominent role in the new company.
Bowser also has been CEO of CAEDC’s subsidiary, the Real Estate Collaborative LLC. This organization is responsible for leading real estate development in Cumberland County with a focus on redevelopment opportunities of brownfields, underutilized sites and other targeted assets in the community.
The REC is involved in redevelopment projects in Carlisle, Shippensburg and Lemoyne.
CAEDC spokeswoman Kristen Rowe said the organization’s board is currently in the process of evaluating options and will make an announcement on next steps to find a new leader.
