Sadler Health Center’s board of directors announced on Monday that after speaking with a number of federally qualified health centers, Sadler will explore the possibility of a partnership with Primary Health Network of Mercer County.

Sadler CEO Ken Green said Sadler, a provider of primary, dental and behavioral services, began looking for a partner after outgrowing its current office at 100 N. Hanover St., Carlisle. Green said the center has the resources for a new center, but needed help to scale its programs alongside the move.

“We felt that we would better serve our community to partner up with an organization that has the things we can’t develop because of our size,” Green said. “We are doing well but there are opportunities to serve more people and expand our resources.”

Primary Health Network has over 50 centers throughout the state and Ohio, and works with over 100,000 patients yearly. Green said that the organization has a breadth of services that would greatly benefit to Sadler and that out of the organizations Sadler spoke to, Primary Health’s mission and values were the best fit.

Green added that Primary Health has a robust mental health program and has leveraged technology well, having a strong online presence that its patients can take advantage of.

“They are in a position to help us grow our medical and dental services,” Green added. “We also have a fairly small behavioral health and substance abuse treatment program while they have a big one.”

Conversations are in their early stages and Green expects that the process could take between nine months to a year before plans are finalized. He said that as talks continue with Primary Health, a primary goal of the center is to keep its branding and identity.
