The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Brewer & Co. LLC has provided tax and business services to the Bloomsburg community for 17 years, according to a news release. The company is known for its expertise in audit, tax compliance and back-office consulting.

Its owner, Daniel Brewer, and his staff will continue operating from their office in Bloomsburg and the eight employees will join the staff of Hampden Township-based McKonly & Asbury.

“The additional resources available by being part of a regional accounting and advisory firm will permit us to provide a wider array of services and expertise to our clients and community,” Brewer said.

For McKonly & Asbury, the acquisition provides an opportunity to expand its presence in a new region and to add employees that will support future growth.

“Since our founding, our approach has been to grow organically as well as to acquire firms with a similar culture and superior client service mindset. The effort we have put into this acquisition is to strive for an excellent outcome for our clients, our team, and our firm and this is certainly an exciting step forward for McKonly & Asbury,” said Kurt Trimarchi, managing partner of McKonly & Asbury.

McKonly & Asbury’s acquisition comes on the heels of its newly established partnership with Dale Carenegie Mid-Atlantic. The firm recently became an owner of Dale Carnegie’s Mid-Atlantic franchise on Jan. 1.

McKonly & Asbury provides accounting and business consulting services in areas such as affordable housing, construction, family businesses, health care, insurance, manufacturing and distribution and nonprofit organizations. It has offices in Hampden Township, Lancaster and now Bloomsburg. With the acquisition of Brewer & Co., McKonly & Asbury has 83 employees.
